I’m not an avid watcher of TV, but I do enjoy the odd programme, so I thought a TV thread might be fun.
I have loved watching “Sick Of It” with Karl Pilkington. I liked this because it was something different. He’s done quite a few travel/alternate lifestyle programmes, so it was time for a change. To watch him wrestling with himself in this alternate universe version of his life was innovative and entertaining. He’s not an actor either, so credit to him for making this work. Only 6 episodes though, so here’s hoping the commission some more.
What’s anyone else watching?

I love documentaries, especially anything to do with ancient history/prehistory or the cosmos. Also anything to do with the quantum world.

Anything to do with history I'm there. Love stuff like Time Team and that. Military history is one of my hobbies so particularly enjoy any of those documentaries.
Otherwise prefer old to new. Was watching Mannix the other night.
Shrill Woman: 'Mannix, they want you dead!'
Mannix: 'Yeah, so do a lot of people.'
Trouble is I've had cable tv for 25 years now so I've pretty much seen all the old shows multiple times. Watching all of M*A*S*H again at the moment. Currently up to 1976 so there's still another 6 seasons to go.

Was that on Forces TV? I’m sure I saw a trailer for it. I did watch UFO at the weekend on there.

I'm down to University Challenge and Have I Got News For You on 'normal' television. I watched Charade on Amazon Prime last night. That's a great film that I'd never seen before.

Great story about Karl Pilkington and University Challenge: He knew none of the answers so he decided to have “egg” as the response to every question. He figured he would at least be right one time! He also played his own game of guessing who would answer next.
I guess, just like Postman Pat, there are levels to watching anything.

Loving 'Killing Eve' on BBC at present. As for old re-runs, we are going through the old 'Morse' series.

I’m really enjoying “Why does everyone hate the English”. Al is more funny out of character and his make for an entertaining series. It’s a gentle paced show too, which somehow really suits the format. Anyone else watching it?

I must admit to enjoying Ancient Aliens on History and H2. Some elements of the content have more than a grain of truth, but that’s not why I watch. It’s the nut-jobs they get on there that have me in stitches. If anyone hasn’t seen it, they should Google it for a laugh.

Lots of episodes relate to past civilisation or civilisations in antiquity. The are lots of things which make me believe there is a truth there. Bit most of all, I just love the nutters like Georgio A Tsoukalos, Dave Childress and George Noory.

I love Ancient Aliens, seen them all. Loads of them here tottering up the road with their walking sticks, white beards and turbans.

I mean how were societies that supposedly had not even invented the wheel able to stack 500 ton blocks of stone on top of one another?
Dave Childress cracks me up. I'm sure his delivery gets more laconic with each series.

Lol he does have quite a bit of wow and flutter.
I like that Rabbi bloke they have on as well. You wouldn't think a Rabbi would subscribe to the Ancient Alien theory but he seems well keen.

Any Strictly fans here? Not a bad series so far, although there are some who appear to be dancers already. Who do you think will win and who would you like to see win?
Me? I think Joe Sugg will win. I’d like to see Stacey win. She’s just so bubbly.

The only one who creeps me out is Kate Silverton. She really looks like a bloke waiting for his op.

Glad to see the back of Sean. Terrible dancer. I only wish Graham and Raj could’ve gone too. So many no hopers this time.

Just watched an episode of 'House' called Nobody's Fault. Wow, what fantastic acting and writing!
Thing is, many people dismiss it as being *just another medical drama*. That's entirely missing the point because that's not what it is at all, as the context is not very important. House could just as easily be a teacher, cop or engineer, etc. The whole thing is really a character study of a manipulative, psychopathic genius and it works superbly.
I never used to think of Hugh Laurie as a serious actor, more a comic actor and before seeing an episode of House I'd thought he was bound to be miscast in this role, but he is actually bloody amazing!
If you've never seen it, take a look.

Watched 'Scorpion' on CBS Action. What a load of tosh! The target audience must be twelve year old schoolboys. It's about as intellectually demanding as reading the Beano. It has only one redeeming feature, Katharine McPhee is gorgeous.
