Been watching 'Salem's Lot' the 1979 mini-series with David Soul and James Mason. Not seen it since it was originally broadcast.
Funny the things you remember - like the redhead in the hot pants.

What channel was that on, not seen it in 30-odd years, and I remember it was pretty good. My first bird was a redhead, looked good in hot pants, but was barking mad. And not always in a good way.

'Strippers, redheads, anyone called Tiffany.' Don't know what channel it was on. Plus turns out I only taped part one so now I'll have to wait until it comes round again to see the second half. It looks a bit cheap by modern standards of production but it's still watchable.

Stephen King's adaptations were pretty good stuff mostly.

Stephen King's adaptations were pretty good stuff mostly. Found the second half of 'Salem's Lot' last night, it's on 'Sci-Fi' channel. Second half better than the first. Some really good scenes, like when James Mason picks up the doctor and impales him on the antler wall. Remember being a bit shocked by that first time but I was only ten.

I remember that scene well, after all these years. My mum couldn't stand James Mason for some reason, but I thought he played the part perfectly.

James Mason was always good in everything he was in.
