My local pub has a room. I’ve used it a few times for events and know the landlord well. It has goodish acoustics as it’s used for live bands and is treated for sound deadening as it is in built up area. Space holds 70 standing. 40-50 sitting for an event. There are local takeaways and supermarkets. 2 min from main line station 5 min from Travelodge. But the down side…… it’s not really in the midlands, although could get central TV in the old days!! It is 4 miles from M4 junction 17. Charge to me would probably be free if we were to buy some beers. 6 real ales on and loads of other drinks. If you could venture south I could put up some photos.

Rooms in pubs is a good call Pete. That could work for me as I have plenty of spaces to stay in Bristol. I probably wouldn't bring my big speakers as it's probably too awkward with overnights as I can't leave them in the car and don't fancy carting them in and out of multiple places.

Ideally we want booze, food, and rooms for overnight stay - all available on site. Lots of available parking space, and easy access ( i.e a ground floor function room). I did manage to tick all those boxes last time but that venue closed not long after and has never re-opened. parking shouldn't be an issue here in my village. Booze - I can check if allowed. There is a coop over the road, so food is easy. Ground foor: I can check Might be a goer, I'm struggling a bit - everywhere I've looked it's either a massive ballroom type place or a space not much bigger than my living room. What's it like for hotels round by you? - people will want to stop over if they've come a distance or want a bevvy - or both!

This space is probably on the large side too - not sure we'll get music super loud in there. Looks like there is a badminton court in there. No 'hotels' in my village, but the Bowling Green pub and Shoulder of Mutton pub have rooms. Hotels in Hathersage, Hope, Castleton etc. Which are under 10mins drive. There is 'bike and boot' hotel about 5 mins away. The Peak District has a lot of accommodation. I could check the space out and check availability. I should be able to judge how echoy it is quite quickly

I don't think anyone will object to staying in a pub. It does look like a school gym which are usually pretty bad. The hard shiny floors are the killer. If everyone brings a rug we can sort that though

If everyone brings a rug we can sort that though I could bring about 6 or 7 rugs and some foam. Nearest train station is Hope (Derbyshire). About 10mins away (2 miles). Maybe someone can find a better option....

I'm going to try one more place - North Staffs Hotel - Wigwam used it for their show a couple of years back. Some of you might have gone to that? - I know Lurch did as I met him there.
It's a bit run down but it does tick every box. Was full of boat people but I think they've moved them elsewhere now.
Was going to call them today but work was even more insane than usual. I'll see if I can give them a try tomorrow.

Didn't get five minutes to turn around today, not even time for lunch. Oh well.
