Latest design from Troels in an interesting one... www.troelsgravesen.dk/SEAS-NEXTEL-2F.htmEssentially a smaller version of the CNO4s (Vaders). The tweeter and 6.5" midrange are the same and frankly stunning drivers. The 8" Nextel driver is not present on these smaller speakers. Deep bass is delivered by a 10" Faital driver (12" on the CNO4s). This can be driven passively or by an active Hypex plate amp. These speakers will give a Vader-like performance (although slightly less scale) in a more compact and cheaper package. Room tuning is an added bonus if you choose to have it.

They're surprisingly good value for the SQ and tuneability you'll get. Probably in the region of the Revelator 851s price point. The 10" bass is very good value. The money is going into the tweeter and mid/bass

They will have the SEAS sound, which is a difference flavour to Scanspeak.

I think these are gonna be a popular speaker... Already starting on some concept designs for a client: This is the early stages of the process, so this will evolve. The client is looking for a 2-box design. They are not keen on the pyramid shape, so we are exploring alternative options. Not long until our renovation is finished - yey! Then it's straight onto some Vaders and then possibly some Nextel 2Fs... I'm excited about getting back into the workshop.

Hi Jason
These speakers look really interesting as I'm planning on changing my speakers later this year. What sort of ball park price are we looking at for the semi active version that seems to be generated lots of praise on the other thread?
Regards
Jonathan

Hi Jason These speakers look really interesting as I'm planning on changing my speakers later this year. What sort of ball park price are we looking at for the semi active version that seems to be generated lots of praise on the other thread? Regards Jonathan Hi Jonathan, Thanks for your interest. It is hard to give an exact price as every pair I make is bespoke to a client's requirements. Also, I would always deliver, setup and tune to your room/system/taste. Setup and delivery will vary depending on your location too. A very rough ball park would be £5500—6500, but cheaper *may* be possible if it is the simple Troels Gravesen cabinet and all base level wiring, binding posts and Crossovers. The pair I have just made have the more sculptural front chamfers and have upgraded capacitors, wiring and binding posts. Pro body Shop paint finishes can be very costly too. They are not "cheap" speakers by any means, but you have to bear in mind that they perform at a level far beyond their cost - especially when tuned to your room/system. I would strongly recommend a listen to hear what they can do.
