I’ve just this minute decided I’m packing in eating other animals. I was veggie for 10 years, then gave it up when we had 2 dogs. I was peeling a boiled egg and was hit by the thought of a life that was never allowed to even happen. I’m not preaching to anybody else here. Just looking for advice really.
When I was veggie in the past I ate dairy. I will probably do so again to start with, but may ditch that too. It will mean new shopping and eating habits. What sort of things do I need to avoid? Is there still gelatine in lots of sweets? Any I can still have?
I like smoothies and I like all veg except celery, so it can’t be that hard, what do I use for protein? I don’t want to eat supplements or man made shite. I don’t trust it.
Any input appreciated..

awesome news mate any animal lover has to be veggie..you cant claim to love animals then fekin eat them ffs. Should also help me stay slim, although it won’t be as easy for me as some: I can’t eat pasta, rice, noodles, potatoes or bread. That only really leaves fruit, veg, dairy, mushrooms and nuts. Still, it has to be done. I knew it would come again one day and that day is today,

Life would hardly be worth living without those. I have one daughter who's vegan and another who's vegetarian. They won't even eat fish, ffs!

soya milk on ya cereals is perfect..apro make a nice one mofo I can’t eat cereals either so that’s that problem gone I used to use soya milk but it is pretty horrible stuff, so not sure I could manage it again. The only good thing I can say about it is that it’s less vile than almond milk. There’s some hemp based stuff out there now, never tried that yet. I will work on the other stuff before trying to find an alternative to milk. I only use it for coffee and I can drink it black if need be, but I do like milk or cream. Leather jackets won’t be a problem (never wear a coat) and I only wear Crocs, so I’m fine without leather shoes too.

I'm not a vegetarian, but since I was a kid, I've not eaten red meat apart from bangers occasionally. I just don't like the texture and smell of most of it. Fish, eggs and poultry are OK for me, but I regularly eat non-meat meals.

My wife is veggie and has been for last 20 years. I learnt very quicly not to go in the bog straight after her.
I am veggie 5 days a week. But crave it the other two. Beef and chicken only though.

I'm afraid a fried egg sarnie and good fish and chips will remain too hard for me to give up. Oh, and I love roast chicken. Don't eat it often though. And then there's lobster, scampi and king prawns. I'd kill for a big fresh lobster!! No way can I give up decent strong cheddar cheese either. I'm addicted to it.

I don't get the deal with the egg. it's not been fertilised so it was never going to be anything but an egg. By eating it you are making use of it.

Vegan's? they are perhaps the most annoying self righteous people I have ever had the misfortune to come into contact with. They preach at you, rant and rave, shout down your life style choices, they are in my opinion nothing but immature emotional drama queens.
Animal cruelty what a joke, a cow has to be milked you bunch of Muppets, other wise it will die in terrible agony. The Hindus are vegetarian, that I can understand, they eat dairy products, but Vegans? These idiot cry babies have taken it to a level that is beyond ridiculous. There arguments are nonsensical, yet they expect everyone to follow their example, bloody Nazis more like.

Bully for you, you must be the only vegan who is incapable of preaching then.
Yea and btw (please note the sarcasm) I am not Ugly or Jewish.
So you are saying do not milk the cow because it is cruel, then we might as well kill them off, stop farming them and milk the few left by hand just to please your illogical, unpractical, and emotionally coloured views on the matter.
Give me a logical and practical argument, and not one based on your emotional, misplaced holier than though sensitivities.

I don't believe all vegans preach, rant and rave and shout down life choices. Maybe you have met the wrong kind of vegan. I'm not a vegan, I do like and eat meat. I would like to think animals are killed as painless as possible but I'm sure that is not always the case. You only have to see wild dogs and hyena's kill their pray to realise the reality of life and death. It always amazes me that fish get overlooked, they are after all dragged out of water and mainly left to die, suppose it would be the same as us drowning.

In fairness most veggies and vegans don't preach, they just get on with it which is as it should be.
Any fucker preaching to me about what's moral and what isn't will get short shrift though. Nothing worse than these types who think they are so perfect they have the right to judge or criticise other people's actions or decisions. They seem to be multiplying as well.

And yet you criticise the BBC's decision to use female sports commentators to commentate on men playing football.
