Got an invite from the man Andy-Electronumpty, which I couldnt resist, so we caught up for a sesh this afternoon/evening. Great vibes and music as always, met his friend Caz, I think it was, lovely, cool, mellow guy. Andy has done a great job on those Tannoys, with concentric configuration and they sounded well nice too, importantly for me, instrumental textures were on point. Bunny Wailer, Bob Marley live Boston 78 on vinyl was a great recording/press, Lee Perry, Stevie Wonder and JJ Cale, who I'd never heard of - all sounded great. It's always about the music when we sit down and indulge and that's what makes the sessions, regardless of length of time, so enjoyable. I've some cable changes, tonearm and speaker (Triple C), in the process of being terminated so once that lots here and burned in a bit, I'll be inviting Andy round again, to hear the music, with those in place and the Plinius 9200 Integrated, now the Sansui's gone

Wow. He's quality. Write a lot of stuff pilfered by larger names. "They call me the breeze" was pilfered by Lynyrd Skynyrd....they made it pretty popular too. Sounds like a good day, and well done both for keeping the socials going. I like to see that.

Eric Clapton built a whole career on JJ Cale. And to be fair, he did acknowledge that.

Still like to listen to Naturally now and again. It’s a time machine though.. straight back to being a 16 year old in 72/73. Can almost smell the patchouli… man.

Must have been a great time to be sixteen. I was sixteen in 1984, Thatcher, Scargill, Derek Hatton, U2, Frankie says arm the unemployed. I suppose it was still better than being sixteen now.

Back in the dim and distant 70s a bird down the pub tipped a bottle of that stuff onto my trenchcoat. My mum accused me of "smoking drugs", and the coat was banned at work, I had to leave it in the loading bay. I actually liked the smell of patchouli, a lot better than my old Afghan coat, which when it got wet smelled like Sh#t. Happy days! At least we didn't have the woke brigade telling us what we can't say or think.
