Always wanted sme La Scalas or even Cornwalls. Maybe one day I will. Any other Klipsch fans out there? I remember hearing a YouTube but of some La Scalas driven by a T amp and it was glorious. I’d need a settled home before even thinking of it, but you never say never,

SCREEEEEASAAAAAMMMMMM!!!!!!!! The top huge Klipschhorns are pretty effective though. the others are just horrible in a tinny transistor radio kind of way I'll wait to be convinced otherwise. P.S. How can you judge vids posted? I mean, there's a tacky phone camera and an unknown room to start with.

This guy has a few videos on YouTube and I reckon he has a good sound. You are joking right? The mic is spitty as all baby mics can be and there's a horrible boomy drone that isn't all in the LP12 Why do people post this Sh#t? The speakers are in a bare looking room and in corners too. That in itself should tell you something even before listening to it...

Nope, not joking at all. I’ve simply made allowances for the mic and the fact it’s a YouTube. Klipsch La Scalas are apparently one of the few which are ok near side walls. I’ve seen and heard other videos of them. I love seeing and hearing other people’s systems on YouTube. I’d much rather have an invite to his house, but it might be a bit of a hike

That wasn’t the clip I heard. Not sure where I went wrong. Anyway, here’s another Klipsch Klip.

No bass on that recording which is handy as the speakers don't have any bass. Tony on PFM has some and uses subwoofers with them. I can't really get my head around having a speaker that large that doesn't do bass.

Klipsh love em or hate em.
I just so happen to like them. Especially the Heritage line, which I am afraid are far to expensive for my pocket. The La Scala does lack bass as stated above, so does the Heresy, but there is an easy affordable solution to both. If you are willing to go DIY, the results of which are both rather amazing sound wise.
First option a beast called the Cornscala, comes in various guises, designed by a bloke by the name of Bob Crites.
The Cornscala so named as a cross between the Cornwall and the La Scala, with the highs of the La Scala and the bass wallop of the Cornwall.
Then by the same man the CS 1.5, a Heresy with bass.
Both designs and all info freely available on Critesspeakers.com
They have recently reintroduced the Forte 3 in the heritage line, a beast of note. To a lot of Klipsh fans along with the Cornwall and Klipschhorn their favorite Klipsch speaker. (The Forte was the biggest selling Klipsh model of years past). Klipsh boys are a very loyal and enthusiastic bunch of fans of P.W. Klipsch's speaker philosophy of bringing the live performance into your home.
There are some fine Music makers in the older of the Klipsh line up. Like the KG line, Epic etc. Available at very reasonable prices. Lots available second hand in the US, in the rest of the world, rare as hens teeth.
The Heritage Line I have listened to.
Klipschorn. Well they need a big room, plus they have to be corner loaded, in that environment they are a listening experience you will never forget, at least I will not. The Bass is amazing in the right set up
Cornwall. Also like the corners where they are at their best, or against a wall. Great sounding speaker, just plays music plain and simple, as close as it gets to a good live performance in a right acoustic venue. Tremendous bass not at all woolly, tight and fast, detailed and deep. (been to some live performances in some venues, that make me hanker after the sound that comes out of my clock radio). Big Beasts, not subtle like all things American.
Heresy. Another fine speaker, great with vocals and acoustic music, clean and organic, just lack bass. (this speaker after all was designed as a center to match the Klipschorn)
La Scala. Mini Klipschorn, also needs to be corner loaded, fine sounding musical organic speaker, nothing wrong with it except it lacks bass.
Others I have listened to.
KG 4. I call these the little music makers, a two way, with a horn tweeter, two 8 inch mid drivers and a rear facing 12 inch passive bass. I just so happen to have a pair and they introduced me to the Klipsch way of playing music. Fast detailed punchy excellent bass easy to drive and position corners again or against the wall move them in or out till you get the bass you like.
These Speakers are so close in performance to another well regarded speaker, the Vandersteen 2CE. They do not have the Vandersteen's ultimate clarity and transparency, but it is close. This is considering the Vandersteen is very fussy to set up, get the placement right, a great speaker, get it wrong average. Like to be out in the room away from the walls. KG 4 - plonk it down by a wall, sit back and enjoy, no hassle.
I am using the Cornscala two way (style D), a diy effort and it outperforms all of the above at a fraction of the price. Big, not wife friendly, loves the corner, heavy and unmovable by one man. Affordable although not exactly cheap, if you go the extra mile on expensive Baltic ply, a good CNC build, and a fine finish. (fortunately I have a dedicated man cave/listening room that can accommodate them).
The affordable newer ones, not in the same league as the Heritage line, the bookshelves image like hell, the towers make fine AV speakers. Some find they bite, horns can bite, but if you get it right are great.
There is a new RF line out that look very interesting. Did listen to the Palladium P38F, the top of the line Klipsch, a great speaker if you have $20,000 USD to spare that is.
