Hi all I'm looking for an amp that must be capable of the following / meet the following criteria - streaming
- includes phono stage
Ideally, it would also do the following: - have a decent display
- £450-£750
- subjective I know, but I want it to look good. I want to love it.
For context, I have about £2k in total (maybe up to £2.5k) and I want to get the following full set up: - £450-£750 streaming amp w/ phono stage
- £700 turntable (I'm thinking Pro-ject Debut Carbon Evo)
- £300 CD plyer
- £? speakers
I had previously thought of the Marantz PM7000N amp and the 'matching' CD player. Likewise the Denon PMA900HNE, I know they share components. I think the Denon would suit the music I listen to based on what I've read. I'm wondering what else I should consider. Would prefer to have an amp with phono stage to keep things tidy.
I've listed above set up to give a steer as to how much I'm sending, as you may think there's more in the budget for the amp depending on what speakers I should get to complement the set up.
Any advice on speakers in particular also appreciated! I was planning on a separate post for that but for now will keep it in one.
Thanks in advance!

start with the loudspeakers, they and the room they will be used in are by far the most important thing for good sound.
Once you have the loudspeakers then you can pick a suitable amp. Then look at the sources. It all falls into place much easier that way.
Does it have to be new or will you consider used? What's your room like in terms of size? Can you put the speakers in free space or will they have to be close to a wall? And so forth.

I would start with speakers 1st. Floorstanders = Q Acoustic 3050i Standmount/bookshelf = QA 3030i
TT= Used Rega 3 + AudioTechnica VM540ML CDP = Rotel CD11 or CD11 Tribute
Don't know enough about streaming amps to recommend anything but reckon you'd be better off with a separate and with mm phono and then get something like a Wiim Pro Plus which is smaller than a paperback but a superb performer. If amp has an inbuilt DAC then drop to the Wiim Pro of jaffacake sized Wiim mini. Bere in mind streaming tech is forever moving forward, + if goes tits up in an amp then your buggered.

Good selection! Maybe could do better on the speakers? They're decent enough for a little two-way, I suppose.

Well yes. I just kept the choice small due to lack of room Info

What types of music will you be playing on the system?
Is there one type you would prioritise to have the best sound?
