It doesn't have to be the blues especially whatever is getting you through this self isolation. First up the opening track from the LP of the same name Grant Green featuring, Joe Henderson (Tenor Sax), Bobby Hutcherson (Vibes), Duke Pearson (Piano), Bob Cranshaw (Bass) & Al Harewood (Drums).

Been listening to Hans Theesink - Delta Time.
It really hits the spot at times.
Thats a good album you have on though. I'll be at it next. Favourite genre by a country mile.

Not heard Hans Theesink - Delta Time will look it up later. Yes Idle Moments is a great record and though the Blue Note 75 are not the best pressings for around about a tenner it isn't bad.

My other half is playing street bingo so time for some Chet Baker and Duke Jordan. The Chet Baker Quartet - No Problem (Steeplechase) Featuring Chet Bker, Duke Jordan, Neils-Henning Γrsted Pederson & Norman Fearrington I

Next up is the incredible Art Pepper Meets The Rhythm Section recorded according to Art in his autobiography 'Straight Life' spontaneously on an Alto with a reed he'd not used before soon after his release from Jail on drugs charges. Like Chet Baker it's difficult to know the truth where Art Pepper is concerned but what is definetley true is that he recorded this record in the the midst of a totally chaotic 20 year period of heroin addiction when he served several Jail terms what is also true is that Art only met up with Red Garland, Paul Chambers and Phill Joe Jones at the recording studio on the morning of the session these three jazz men where Miles Davis's band and where considered to be the greatest Jazz rhythm section of the time. Unprepared and according to Art on an unfamiliar instrument the four jazz men created something of incredible beauty that day , it was a career defining performance from Art Pepper and the music that he pulled from deep within in him would become known as a masterpiece of the genre and one the best alto sax performances of the time. fulful

One of the best and most influential bands of the 60's and I know many wouldn't agree but along with The Small Faces, The Stones and The Who I'd put them way, way above The Beatles.
