As per yesterday's conversation, adding a top notch sub to your set up may be all you need to make an already great system perfect for you. For a fraction of the cost. You could try out my REL T9i, but I think your speakers would warrant something better, like the one that bloke had with the little Q Acoustics standmounts. It would be a lot cheaper. Yes, I reckon I could make what I have better with a sub, but it still isn't going to have that stop-start control as good as those Kii3. I mean just nothing else I have ever heard does that so well.
Dutch+Dutch 8C are probably close, and for slightly less money.

I think you're right, a sub will not give you that stop/start control in the bass. I hope to finish my big Arke Vaders later this year. I'd be very happy to bring them over if you fancy a listen. I'd be very grateful to get your opinion on them. Yes I would love to, or I could come to you when they are done. I'll get them finished and see how start/stop the bass is first! 😉 Then we can organise a listen for you.

When Arke has his Vaders ready I would be happy to run you over there for a listen, I'm curious to hear them too. Over in Yorkshire (the Dark Side) I think, where "The Force" is strong. I'll get me coat.

Very impressed by Klipsch Cornwalls, as fast and dynamic as I'd expected but pretty much clear of the colouration I was mistakenly looking out for. They sounded okay unlike last pair I heard but their mid and top colouration was pretty obvious I thought.

cant believe you got those summits there !!!!! wow they are big to lug about He's a big feller, probably just tucked one under each arm Never heard MLs before, they impressed me with their mix of clarity and power. I don't know what the floor was made of, but I could feel the bass coming through my feet. And were surprisingly wife-friendly for such big 'uns - I could probably get them past Mrs. Pony. my wife was ok with them for 4 years but then gave them marching orders !!! i am however extremely pleased with my tannoy eaton legacy which just sound superb , they dont quite have the bass of the summit x but they really image so well and are so natural in sound

macca Thanks for coming in to my room and for selling me one of my NVA P300 amps which were in use . I had a bit of nightmare with no internet and being all digital and server base it was a little stressful . Got my three way active system up and working and in the end was very happy with the music it produced . As I was on my own did not get to hear as many systems as I would have liked but Daves system with the four , yes four Linaeum Tweeters and two active Yamaha base unit plus a mid driver that looked like wire mesh and driven by a six watt SET amp which looked like he had used an old Quad II case was indeed very strange but really worked and on Saturday night sat and listened to Krafwerk Tour de France which sounded epic .

A fairly killer demo track that contains pretty much everything in popular music. I didn't notice any 'traditional midrange' colourations at all. The treble got squawky at high levels, but I attribute that to room overload (it was probably the smallest room at the show), and I suspect my own hearing overloading (I've suspected for quite a while that any system over feistyiness I wince at is as much my hearing as the system itself). If I were in the market for a new pair of main system speakers they'd definitely now be on my shortlist for further (private) investigation.

I also only heard one song, did not hear anything unpleasant happening but they do a character of their own which I think is quite obvious especially when you can go into the next room along and (probably) hear a more neutral speaker to compare. They have strengths I know but impossible to exploit them in such a small room. If they could have set them up in one of the big trade rooms then they would be a lot of fun I think.

That one song was a Queen track, which did the Cornwalls no favours imo. Someone should have given that poor bloke a bigger room.
