macca Bring them, the Q acoustics may not shift enough air for the space. Okay will do but I'm sure the Q Acoustics will easily fill that room. Yeah, you may be right, but best to have options just in case |

How many streamers are dropping to say hello? Was gonna bung my laptop in as my streamer needs the internet. Not ideal but perfectly acceptable via the Mutec. Bring whatever you have that works mate. |

Nothing really. i have for some time been thinking about changing the Zu's (as it is I love them and hate them in equal measure), but they need to look a certain way to get past Anita, ie they have to be big 'n' tall, and they have to be black. Thing is, they sit either side of the telly, so they constantly keep her company while watching Corrie. I only got away with introducing any non-black components into my rig since I moved them out of her sight-line.
My shortlist became KEF R11s or Q Acoustics Concept 500s. Nintronics were selling some 'B' grade R11s recently, but turns out none of them were black.
If it were up to me I'd get some bloody big transmission lines for the hell of it, but unfortunately it isn't.
Anyway, after we tinkered with your graphic equaliser, we got the Zu's midrange a bit less in yer face, so we'll see.

I could happily listen to them all day with just that bit of EQ applied. It made a considerable difference IMO. Still wouldn't be my choice of speaker but they do have that 'live' sound a lot of people like.
What about getting some new speakers and spray-painting them black? Not a big job. Bit of sanding, couple of rattle cans of primer and black. I'd be happy to help.

If it isn't mint/excellent then It will be up to someone else to use on a different TT. I'll be bringing some variety of vinyl and London grammar will not be in the box 🤣 |

What we do at the Audio Talk meets is people get two tracks to play each and go round all the systems in turn, after that it’s a free for all chop and change about etc.

Sorted the car, cleaned the TPS, still a little lumpy, but engine light fixed and it's better.
Thinking about it. I have a target tt shelf and a pair of epos es14 stands if anyone wants em.

You would be returning to Stoke looking like a one-man Black and White Minstrels revival, and that would be getting off lightly compared to me  |

I don't know what your paint spraying skills are like, but I know mine. Obviously I'd blame the mess on you but that probably won't get me off the hook. Might still work though - I once had an LP12 with walnut plinth, which she had me spray black. A right dog's dinner, but she still preferred it to the original colour. Current top contender is the Concept 500s, which i can get away with as long as she doesn't look at the sides (which is a cool feature imo). Selling the Zu's and my Audion amp might put me somewhere near it. |
