Spent some time early this morning before it got too hot loading the car ready for Retrotech fair tomorrow. Couldn't believe how much excess kit I've accumulated, 2x valve integrateds, 3 pairs of speakers, T27s, 2 power amps....... Spent rest of the day (after a shower) hiding from the sun behind curtains with the fans going. Me no likey heat, am no use to man nor beast when it's hot, I HATE Summer, will now suffer until October when temperature gets back to sensible levels.

It's very rare that it's not bastard freezing - all year round. Rains a lot too, if you like that sort of thing.

macca "Rains a lot too, if you like that sort of thing." He does. I can't wait for it to warm up even more. Ok it's a reasonable day today, but I wouldn't call it T shirt weather. Roll on the 16th September.

Roll on the 16th September. I know - they had the aircon on at work on Friday, it was only 21C. Just no need for it. Happily everyone else leaves before I do so I could turn it off and warm up a bit then. There's no spares available for the aircon system so once it dies that's it. Might be this year if they keep on hammering it when it's barely even warm out.

Not even that warm this morning but they were still out at the Sainsburys in shorts and flip flops. Legs whiter than an Alaskan snowfield. God alone knows what they think they look like, it's no way for a grown man to dress.
I'd ban it, I really would. No-one wants to see some bloke's legs and feet. Maybe at the beach it's acceptable but not walking round some northern town when it's only 17C.

Well as someone who has not worn long trousers or long sleeved shirts since 2019 any weather is fine . Warm is good but not that fussed about the cold either . Will break that long tradition today as I have to wear a suit for a funeral . Will I think feel very strange shirt will still be short sleeved though .

I noticed the fan in bathroom not working so came back to fix today
Had the little chappie here today which is total fun , changing nappies and watching my good lady reading him peter rabbit and his delightful gurgles is a treasure

Today was up at a sparrow's fart, for a trek to 'We want be togther' land, managed to cram in three seperate jobs and back home for 7pm without breaking the sub light speed barrier. First stop Walsall to have a custom exhaust system for the works transport, had a hire car arranged at fabrication place to a short hop to Bromsgrove to install a new dac/Mutec clock package. Car ready at 1.30pm which left enough time to get to Birimingham for meeting with new metalwork supplier & anodiser factory visit. Some traffic on the M1 so small detour to Warwick them M40 for 80 miles and home.
Have to say the black country chaps are rather friendly and very helpful (if I can only grasp every third word) a very productive oif long day's work today!

Today I have decided I should give you all an update on where things are with Mum.
As many of you know my 95 Yr old Mum has been living with Cancer of the Pancreas & liver (+ other life threatening ailments) since mid July last year. Thankfully besides reduced mobility she hasn't been in any pain, she's been happy and her tongue has been just as sharp as always. Last weekend saw the big C hit with a vegance (again no pain) but her condition went rapidly downwards to the point where on Wednesday all superfluous meds were withdrawn and she was being given only injectable anti-nausea and relaxant (valium type) meds to keep her comfortable, carer/nursing attendance has increased from 2 to 4 with NHS picking up the tab. Have also been told we are now looking at days rather than weeks before she's gone. The stubborn mare that shes always been has done well though, we were told 3 - 6 months, today is day 3 of month 11 since the diagnosis.
