I've got a confession to make, I didn't purchase the Orient watch, I had decided it was the one for me but didn't pull the trigger. Went out this morning, looked in the windows of a couple of jewellers and then Beaverbrooks, saw a Tissot in the window, went in and tried it on. Really liked it but came home to check on price or if I still preferred it to the Orient. Been out again, (only live 10 mins walk from town centre) and brought this. www.beaverbrooks.co.uk/0109135/Tissot-PR100-Mens-Watch/pVery happy indeed. Far better choice imho.

Submariner is the only Rolex I’d want. I toyed with one when they were under £3k. Just looked today and they are £9k!

They've guaranteed the battery for 2 years. Are you raiding the piggy bank Roy, I saw a few Rolex watches yesterday, only half that price, get yourself a bargain.

I'm off back to Cambodia in 2 months, can get some cheap watches there.

I like Tissot watches although few people do for some reason.
Here is mine:
Despite being a chrono, it is very easy to tell the time at a glance even with my glasses off
Battery expired around a month ago after 2 years and changing it was a doddle.

Looking a bit worse for wear unfortunately. Never seen a watch showing analogue and digital together.

I've got a Casio that does that, you can switch between analogue and digital display. Not worn that since 1998 though Got it for my 18th off of the neighbors. Bet it would still work fine if I put a fresh battery in it.

My favourite watch ever. Want a new strap for mine.

That's different Roy, I'm not too sure whether it would be one that I'd buy or not. I did wear my new one for the first time yesterday, very light and comfortable.

When I was looking Creation nearly always seemed the cheapest, I've got me eye on one with bidding ending tonight, only a cheapie. Do you know how many watches you've got Roy.

Reminds me of my mother in law's wardrobe. That was crammed with expensive shoes.

Reminds me of my mother in law's wardrobe. That was crammed with expensive shoes. Hope your mother in law enjoyed her shoes as much as I enjoy my watches. (I realise your post was intended to be demeaning & somewhat belittling Geoff, I've got used to your acerbic wit over the years) I was drawing a parallel with no intent in any particular direction. Many of us are guilty of possession for its own sake, me included!

If you have 'no intent in any particular direction' why bother posting anything? It's a forum. People post!

It's a forum. People post! But generally people don't post to take the piss out of stuff they have no interest in. I'll stick to dedicated forums & facebook groups for this subject matter in future. Geoff is a grumpy ole fart. He's harmless. S.

Agreed. I was really enjoying seeing them. It was almost like having the collection myself. I have to stay away from jewellers windows or even tv selling because I used to be susceptible. It was also this thread that got me to get my Breitling back.

For goodness sake, why are people so precious about such stuff? You'd think somebody's dog had been shot!

It wasn't shot. Just died naturally, I think. And owner couldn't be parted from it. For sale now on Facebook, for anyone interested. £100 and it's yours. Cheap for a rug.

I like the styling of the Citizen. Never owned one but they are said to be very well made.

I've stuck me dummy back in & the toys are back in the pram, just objected to my collection being compared to sweaty old ladies shoes. And there I was, thinking you'd used my harmless passing comment as an excuse to have a pop & strop. Just shows how wrong one can be. Although I don't recall the above as being what was said.

As we’ve taken the other halves grandsons to jump evolution something a bit sporty today (not that I’ll be jumping, I just wobble a bit these days). I had a Nautica about 15 years ago. Very similar bezel. I got mine off Bid Tv. I wish they hadn’t gone bust, a great set of channels.

Sorry to have to say, since I mostly like your watches, I'm not keen on the Nautica.
